Janice Rae Wenger, 78, Elma resident and homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.

Janice Rae Wenger, 78, Elma resident and homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.

Janice was born on Nov. 19, 1940, in Macy, Nebraska to William Conrad and Fannie (Renner) Hankins. She attended school in Macy and when she was 17, moved to Montesano. She later moved to Ocosta and then Raymond. For the last 15 years she has lived in Elma.

Janice married Ray Wenger in Homer, Neb. on March 31, 1958. They would later divorce. He passed away June 2, 2018.

She was a homemaker taking care of her family. But in the early 80s she worked for a ladies retail store in downtown Aberdeen, “My Lady’s”. In the late 80s, she and a partner opened “Fresh Ideas” in downtown Aberdeen.

Janice enjoyed Needle crafts and other arts and crafts.

Jancie is survived by sons: Randle (Karen) Wenger of Hoquiam, Mark T. Wenger of Aberdeen and Mike T. Wenger of Aberdeen; a daughter, Vicky (Ed) Rozmaryn of Hoquiam; sisters: Donna May Swanson of Macy, Neb. and Dorothy Ann Lewis of Elma; six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by a son David Conrad Wenger; brothers: Billy Eugene Potter and Richard Dean Hankins; and sisters: Viollia Mardell Hankins and Melva Dee Philps.

There will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
