James Smith Miller, age 57, a resident of Elma, Wash., died unexpectedly in a tragic accident in Montesano on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017. James was born on June 24, 1960, in Aberdeen, Wash. to Billy Jo Miller Sr. and Jean Isabell (Shay) Everson.
His surviving family members include his mother, Jean Everson of Montesano; five brothers, Bill Miller Jr. (Pearl) of Alaska, Steve Miller (Tracy) of Tumwater, John Miller of Montesano, Jeff Miller (Suzanna) of Central Park and Rick Miller of Montesano; one sister, Sheryl Latch of Montesano; he leaves behind two sons, Joshua Miller (Melody) of Elma and Codie Miller (Annie) of Montesano; one daughter, Amber Crawford (Dustin) of Elma; one adopted daughter, Jennifer Buell (Ulan) of Elma; seven grandchildren, three adopted grandchildren, lots of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He will be laid to rest with his father, Billy Joe Miller Sr., his son, Sonny James Miller and other family members.
James worked at Weyerhaeuser for at least 30 years until he retired. In 1980 he also assisted in the clean-up of Mount Saint Helens for a year.
His hobbies were to ride his Harley and be with his family. He loved to go fishing and cooking. He was known by the nicknames of “Coke”, “Co – Co” and “Animal”.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at the Moose Lodge, 3 Monte Elma Road in Montesano, with a potluck for family and friends to follow.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Wash.
