James passed away due to an ongoing illness at the age of 79 at Mother Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Olympia.

James passed away due to an ongoing illness at the age of 79 at Mother Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Olympia. Born to Julius O. Bruner and Queen Helen Noble in Corona, Calif. on Aug. 23, 1939. At the age of two his family of five children moved to Seattle with Boeing in the picture. Jim graduated from Cleveland High School and with several school friends; he joined the Army in 1957. His training was in the missile program until discharge in 1961.

Jim returned to California to work with his uncle but Seattle was calling his name. It was there he met his one and only love, Donna. They met at the Spanish Castle Dance Hall and later married in 1966. Moving to CleElum, Jim worked at Ellensburg College, and later moved to Black Diamond. In Renton, he worked 16 years at Pacific Car and Foundry as an overhead crane operator. Jim and Donna then moved to Westport to be near her family. Here Jim began a career with Brumfield Construction. He was a diesel mechanic amongst other duties. He loved his job and going to work, they fit together. In 2003 his health began to fail and he had to retire.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Donna; brother Arthur of Medford, Ore.; sister Lois Renda of Mont.; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Jim had three wonderful sisters proceed him in death.

At Jim’s request no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to PAWS in Aberdeen.

Jim will be truly missed.
