James L. Emery Sr. passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at the age of 70.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1950, to Amil and Goldie (Greene) Emery in Aberdeen, Washington. He was a lifelong Aberdeen resident.

James attended Aberdeen schools and actually met his future wife, Wilma J. Younger, in the third grade. They were married on Aug. 8, 1969, in Aberdeen. She resides at the family home.

James worked for the Washington State Highway Department for 22 years, working with heavy equipment. He loved going to old car shows, bingo and spending time with his grandkids.

James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma J. Emery of Aberdeen; a son, James L. Emery Jr.; grandson, Bryce Emery and granddaughter, Jesse Emery; brothers: Buster Emery and Jesse Emery; sisters: Kathy Nelson and Vickie Moore all of Aberdeen; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, Amil and Goldie; sisters: Helen Russell, Patty Grauman, Judy Brown and Sharon Jimenez; and a brother, Marvin Emery.

No services will be held at this time.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
