James Henry “Jim” White, age 78, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died on April 11, 2025, at Harbor Regional Hospital in Aberdeen.

James Henry “Jim” White, age 78, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died on April 11, 2025, at Harbor Regional Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born in Aberdeen on May 4, 1946, to Theodore A. and Audrey M. (Michalak) White. He was raised in East Hoquiam and graduated from Wishkah High School in 1964.

From 1965 until 1968, he served as an engineer in the U.S. Army 9th Infantry, 11th Cavalry including a term in Vietnam. Upon his discharge, he returned to the Harbor where he worked as a timber faller for Johnson Brothers and ITT Rayonier, Camp 14 at Crane Creek.

He then joined the National Guard and served from 1989 to 1990.

Jim retired in 2006.

He had volunteered at the Hoquiam VFW for many years, was an avid reader, especially history and logging books.

Surviving relatives include two nieces, Corie Bradt (Michael) and Tressa White; a nephew Steve White (Lorna) and sisters-in-law, Patricia Wilson and Delores White. Two brothers, Terry and Ricky White preceded him in death.

A celebration of life with military honors will be at 12 p.m. noon on Sunday, May 4, 2025, followed by a potluck meal at the Hoquiam VFW, 407 – 7th Street, Hoquiam, Washington.

Cremation arrangements are by Coleman Mortuary.
