James Edward Aiken Sr., 68, a resident of Aberdeen, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.

James Edward Aiken Sr., 68, a resident of Aberdeen, passed away in his home on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.

James was born on March 2, 1952, in Salem, Oregon, to Denny and Waunda (Walch) Aiken. He lived in Grays Harbor for most of his life and attended high school in Hoquiam. On Jan. 5, 1974, he and Betty Lewin were married. James was a long-haul truck driver for many years. He liked to fish and loved the beach. James would take family and friends on drives to the coast, where he taught the kids to water ski.

James is survived by his son James Edward Aiken Jr. of Aberdeen; two daughters: Holly Aiken-Rolland (David) of Aberdeen and Heather Aiken-Alder (Chelsey) of Scottsdale, Arizona; his two brothers: Leonard Aiken (Shirley) of Aberdeen and Mike Aiken (Becky) of Hoquiam; sister Georgia Tecca (Robert) of Camino Island and five grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to help pay the funeral costs and medical bills to Great Northwest Federal Credit Union to an account in his wife’s name.

Due to Covid-19 there will be no formal services.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
