James Allen, aka “Big Jim” and “Jimmy” Nelson was born Aug. 31, 1963, in Aberdeen, Washington.

Jim passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on Oct. 24, 2021, at age 58.

Jimmy was quite the boy — fun-loving, athletic and a practical joker.

As Jimmy grew older, he became quite the amazing man.

Jim was loved by all he came in contact with. Jim spent several years in the United States Navy and working as a Union Iron Worker, welding underwater and skin diving.

In the years preceding his death, his loves were his biological family, his mother Betty Meyer, his dad Tony Meyer and the late Sam Nelson. Jim has three sisters: Katherine Meyer, Denise Heaps and Megan Nelson Thomly and two brothers: Alex Nelson and Vern Nelson.

Jim was very involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The members of the church were very important to Jim and his family. The church put on Jim’s funeral services — what a beautiful service. The family thanks you from all our hearts.

Another love of Jim’s was the Timber Gym in Aberdeen, Donnie Bell and his family. We, the family, would like to thank you for all your selflessness and love. Jim lived for you and that gym.

Jim will be greatly missed. He was an inspiration to all. We love you Jimmy.
