Jacqulyn “Jackie” Helser, 81 years of age and a longtime Quinault, Wash. area resident, died on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at her Quinault home.

Jacqulyn “Jackie” Helser, 81 years of age and a longtime Quinault, Wash. area resident, died on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at her Quinault home. She was born on Sept. 22, 1936, in Aberdeen, Wash. to Erven and Wilma (Labaumbard) Marrs.

She was raised and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from the Aberdeen High School. Following her high school education she worked for the telephone company.

On Dec. 16, 1955, she was married to Donald J. Helser in Aberdeen. He was in the U.S. Navy, and they first lived in Guam where his ship was stationed.

She worked at various jobs as he was stationed all around the world. These places included Guam, Japan, Alaska, Eastern and Western Caribbean, South America and Hawaii.

Jackie enjoyed cooking, cruising and gaming. Being a fabulous cook, she made many loving meals for her family and friends

When Donald was stationed in areas where there was no dependant housing, Jacqulyn would return to live in her dream cabin alongside Lake Quinault. She loved Lake Quinault and the surrounding area.

Jacqulyn Helser is survived by her husband, Donald J. Helser, of the Quinault family home; her son, Erven Helser (Dianna) of Quinault; her daughter, Virginia Parker (Steve) of Clarkston, Wash.; her sister, Ginger McElwee of Quinault and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jo Godber and Mavis Schofield.

Private inurnment will be in the Quinault Cemetery.

A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Quinault Rain Forest Resort.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Wash.
