Jackie HintzDec. 25, 1927 — Nov. 21, 2021

Jackie Hintz was born Jacquelyn Rae Nesbit on Christmas Day, 1927, in Wadena, Minnesota.

Jackie Hintz was born Jacquelyn Rae Nesbit on Christmas Day, 1927, in Wadena, Minnesota to James and Margaret Nesbit. She had two older siblings, Lois Jean Nesbit (Nov. 10, 1925 – Jan. 15, 2017) and, James Monroe Nesbit “Jack / Bud”(Jan. 22, 1927 – Nov 24, 2002.

As a small child, the Nesbit family moved to Jamestown, North Dakota and then to Tacoma before settling in Aberdeen, Washington. Jackie graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1946 and went to work for the phone company as an operator soon thereafter. She met her future husband Fred Hintz who was stationed in Westport with the U.S. Coast Guard. Fred would give her his ‘48 Plymouth Business Coupe to get back and forth to work and he would “hitch-hike” between Aberdeen and Westport while they were dating. They were married in Berkeley, California on Oct. 30, 1953, and moved to Auburn, Washington to begin their married life. They had two children: Jim, born in 1960 and Lisa, born in 1961.

Jackie always put others before herself. She was a happy, loving, caring person and mother. Family always came first. She always saw the “positive” side of everything and her glass was always :half full” — ALWAYS and until the end.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents — both passed in 1983, her sister and brother, and her beloved Fred who passed on Sept. 20, 2004 — two weeks after his 75th birthday. They were married for 50+ years.

She leaves behind her son, Jim and wife Annette; her daughter Lisa and her husband Brent, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

There will be a small service at Mt. Tahoma Cemetery, where her and Fred’s ashes will be interred.
