Irene Joyce Raynor, 87, Ocosta resident since 2007, and volunteer at the Westport Museum, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.

Irene Joyce Raynor, 87, Ocosta resident since 2007 and volunteer at the Westport Museum, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.

Irene was born on May 5, 1931, in Bridlington, England, to Ronald and Edna (Newlove) Shipley.

She married William T. Raynor in Bridlington, England, on Oct. 1, 1953. He passed away on April 20, 2010.

They moved to Powell River, Canada, in 1957 and then to Lynnwood, Washington, and later to Edmonds. She went to work for the Edmonds School District as a payroll manager for more than 20 years, retiring in 1995. She did volunteer work at Sherwood Elementary School and others. In 2007, they moved to Ocosta where she also volunteered at the Westport Museum and Westport library.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, getting her hair done every week, knitting, taking drives and spending time with family and friends.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Lesley Raynor of Westport, Washington; a granddaughter, Seagra (Brock Orton) Carkonen of Ocosta and two great-grandchildren: Coral and Reef.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 1-4 p.m. at the Westport Winery, One South Arbor Road, Aberdeen, Washington.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
