Ian Shrader (W7IAN), age 65, a resident of Ocean Shores for over 22 years, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at his home in Ocean Shores.

Ian Shrader (W7IAN), age 65, a resident of Ocean Shores for over 22 years, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at his home in Ocean Shores. Ian was born on Nov. 2, 1952, in New Jersey to Robert and Anne (Martin) Shrader.

The family moved to Bainbridge Island in 1957, then to Hoquiam in 1961 when his father took an engineering position at Lamb Grays Harbor. They would later move to Aberdeen where in 1971, Ian graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen. He then received an Associate Degree from Grays Harbor College.

Ian had driven bus for Grays Harbor Transit for over 25 years. He enjoyed sports and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia. Ian also loved being a licensed HAM radio operator. In over 30 years, he had spoken with people from every continent and all IOTAs. He was a member of ARRL (American Radio Relay League).

Surviving relatives include the love of his life, Jerri L. Shrader of Ocean Shores.

Jerri and Ian married in 1996 at the Lake Quinault Lodge. The Lake Quinault area held a special place in their hearts.

Ian is also survived by a daughter, Phoebe Boode of Ocean Shores; a son, Larry Bryant of Hoquiam; two grandchildren, Hadleigh Boode and Adam Bryant; bothers, Loren Falls of Aberdeen, Dale G. Shrader of Spartanburg, S.C.; one sister, Patricia Allman of Aberdeen; step-son Jared Eison of Pacific Beach; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A daughter, Elisa Shrader proceeded Ian in death.
