Longtime Aberdeen resident Hugh Roe O’Donnell passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at his Aberdeen home.

Longtime Aberdeen resident Hugh Roe O’Donnell passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at his Aberdeen home. He was 72. Hugh was born on April 29, 1944, to John and Ada (Rossen) O’Donnell in San Antonio, Texas. He was raised in the Lone Star state and graduated from Abilene’s Wylie High School. Upon graduation, Hugh joined the Unites States Marine Corps and served his country in Vietnam.

In 1966 Hugh’s time with the USMC was up and he moved to Seattle where he worked for Boeing, Sea/Land Service Inc., and Ric’s Transfer Co. Hugh then made the move to Grays Harbor in 1977. He worked for The Port of Grays Harbor before retiring from Stevedoring Services of America as a Vessel Operations Superintendent.

Though Hugh kept himself busy with work he made time to attend Highline Community College, University of Washington and Grays Harbor Community College to further his knowledge in Business Administration. With that came his interest in the Stock Market and reading.

Hugh is survived by his sons Patrick and Andrew O’Donnell, grandson Lamonte Johnson and granddaughter Keira O’Donnell.
