Longtime Elma resident and recent McCleary resident our father Harry Hilton Tronson passed away on April 4,2023 at the age of 95. He passed peacefully in his sleep and will be sadly missed. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and kindness to all who knew him. He served his country during World War ll in the United States Army from 1945-1947 in the South Pacific as a Sergeant TSGT for the 29th and 30th ENG.TOPO. BN. His early years in Elma he ran Harrys Sport Shop on Main Street. He then worked at Simpson Mill in McCleary for 19 years and then decided to change careers and served the Elma community as a Farmers Insurance agent for 33 years. His love of sports and coaching and managing baseball and softball was evident to any who knew him. He was still playing the game at age 83. He also was an avid bowler and member of the Olympia league. He spent many years hunting with family and friends in Eastern Washington as well as fishing on Lake Cushman with his wife Janice Hudson Tronson of 57 years who passed before him in 2008. He is survived by 2 daughters and a son. Dana Tronson Ochsner and Dan of Shelton, Diana Tronson VanAelstyn and John of Seattle and Dennis Tronson and Loretta of Cashmere. He has seven grandchildren Keesha Ochsner Wallace of Portland, Oregon and Krystle Ochsner Ramos of Shelton and Jeff Ochsner of Lacey. Megan VanAelstyn Burden of Crofton, Maryland and Eric VanAelstyn of Seattle and Anya Tronson Belcher of Wenatchee, Amaris Tronson Longmire of Lake Chelan. Also, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.
A celebration of life memorial will take place at the McCleary VFW on Monday June 5, at 2 p.m.
