Harold Duane Ralkey passed away into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 101, on March 24, 2025, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.

Harold Duane Ralkey passed away into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 101, on March 24, 2025, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington. He was born in North Dakota on Feb. 29, 1924, to Daniel and Lena Ralkey.

Harold married the love of his life, Geraldine “Peggy” Whipple, in 1948. They relocated to the Grays Harbor area where together they raised four children. Harold served four years in the United States Army. He also worked as a firefighter in Fort Lewis and worked at Simpson Door Plant for 39 years.

Harold was not just a hero fighting for our country, but also by everyone that knew him. His passions were going to garage sales, swap meets, and working in the yard and in his shop doing numerous tasks at home. Harold was a man of strong moral principles that everyone that knew him looked up to, especially his family.

Harold is survived by his son, Myron Ralkey of Orville, Washington; daughter, Carol Bogar of Elma, Washington; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and his beloved Dachshund, Pretty Girl.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine “Peggy” Ralkey; sons, Dennis Ralkey and Loren Ralkey; parents, Daniel and Lena Ralkey; brother, Clifford Ralkey; and sister, Vera Ralkey.

A memorial gathering is planned for Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge in Elma. Military honors will immediately follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
