Hannelore Stevens
Hannelore Stevens, a long time resident of Raymond, Washington, passed away in her home Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
Hannelore was born to Wilhelm and Paula Fischer on November 2, 1941. She has one brother, Werner Fischer, and three nephews, Wilhelm Fischer, Tomas Fischer and Stefan Fischer.
Mom met and married Frank Stevens in Germany on September 21, 1960 while dad was stationed there in the Air Force. Their daughter, Debi, came along on September of 1961 and then they transferred to Waterloo, Iowa where their son, Cary, was born on June 12, 1964.
They were transferred to California until Frank retired from the military in 1971. They moved out to Brooklyn, Washington for two years and then to South Bend. Mom worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several employers: Inge Schwartz’s Texaco station, German Deli, Dr. Shirfey and Dr. Von Thiel until he retired and for the South Bend Packing Co. until she retired in 2010.
Over the years, Hannelore was involved with the Ladies Elks and their endeavors and a Ladies Christmas Club that met monthly.
Hannelore is survived by her brother, Werner; daughter, Debi; son Cary; grandchildren, David, Jessica, and Patrick and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; stepson Wayne and great-granddaughter, Kara.
Any donations in Hannelore’s memory can be made to Helping Hands in South Bend, or Hava animal care in Raymond. Per mom’s request, there will be no service.
