Grace Lucy Erickson, 102, passed away on April 23, 2020, at Pacific Care in Hoquiam, Washington.

Grace Lucy Erickson, 102, passed away on April 23, 2020, at Pacific Care in Hoquiam, Washington. Grace was born in Seattle on April 17, 1918. She attended schools in Hoquiam and graduated from HHS in 1936. Her first job was with the Indian Agency and then worked for Grays Harbor Chair Factory and later for the City of Hoquiam until her retirement in 1980.

Grace married Roy Loomis in 1946, and he later died in 1968. She and Ralph Erickson were married in 1976 and he passed away in 1999. Ralph and Grace traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Mexico and the United States. They especially enjoyed frequent trips to Reno and loved camping in their camper at state and national parks. They loved following their grandsons Chris and Jeff throughout their high school sporting events and never missed playoffs, tournaments or state events. Grace was active in the Hoquiam Eagles Auxiliary and as a member of the Elma Eagles and was reportedly the oldest living member of the Eagles Auxiliary in the State of Washington. Grace was also a member of the Sunshine Grandmothers’ Club and REACT.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Penny and husband, Ken Niles; stepson, Larry Erickson, stepbrother, Howard Mackenzie, grandson, Chris and Jauna Niles and great-grandsons Tad and Wyatt; grandson, Jeff and Deanna Niles and great-grandsons Wyatt, Cooper and Logan and grandson Mike and Dee Erickson and two great-granddaughters Hayley and Adam Sykes and Morgan Erickson.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, family graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 1:30 at Sunset Cemetery in Hoquiam with Coleman Mortuary handling the details.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 5th Street in Hoquiam, Washington.
