Gloria “Pat” Irene McLeod, a resident of East Hoquiam since 1962, passed away at age 87 in Aberdeen, Washington on July 29, 2022.

She was born March 17, 1935, to Charles and Enola (Jaques) Grenz in Jefferson, Oregon. She was one of eight siblings.

She married Pearl Stutzman on Feb. 20, 1953. They had five daughters. Their youngest daughter, Linda, passed away in 2018.

She later married Joseph McLeod on July 9, 1973, in Thurston County and had four children.

Pat worked very hard at being a mother and grandmother to her 72 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved to spend time rockhounding in Crabtree Creek and visiting family in the surrounding area.

Pat was a friend to all and didn’t know a stranger. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness and her sense of humor.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Gene “Sonny” (Judy) Grenz of Reedsport, Oregon; children: Sandra Jones, of Cosmopolis, Washington; Karen (Bob) Randall of Elma, Washington; Judy Stutzman of Scio, Oregon; Patty (John) Carnes of Aberdeen, Washington; Joe (Denise) McLeod of Aberdeen, Washington; Lauri Catron of Ketchikan, Alaska; Joli (Darrell) Lane of Aberdeen, Washington and Peter (Erin) McLeod of Lebanon, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Shirley Renfro and Kay Griffith; brothers, Carl, Marvin and Daniel Grenz; husband; daughter, Linda Schimelpfenig and granddaughter, Lorraine Van Blaricom.

The family would like to acknowledge the people of Grays Harbor Health and Rehab for their wonderful love and care of our sweet mother. Special thanks to Nichelle, Carrie, Dennis and the third floor staff for everything they have done to make feel at home.

There will be a celebration of life/potluck to be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Alive Church of the Nazarene, 101 South H Street, Aberdeen, Washington.
