Geraldine Eleanore Bunch, resident of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away on Jan. 17, 2020. She was 81. Geraldine was born March 5, 1938, in Raymond, Washington, to Hattie Alma (Thompson) and Carl Raymond Knapp. Geraldine was raised in Aberdeen, and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1956. She married Dennis Bunch in Westport, Washington, on March 3, 1994, at the Costal Community Church. Over her lifetime she also lived in Burien, Spanaway and Seattle, Washington, as well as South San Gabriel, California.

Geraldine was a member of the Communications Workers of America Union, and Coastal Community Church in Westport, Washington. She worked in telecommunications as a dispatcher for 26 years in Aberdeen, Seattle and Olympia, Washington. She retired in 1986. Some of her favorite hobbies included photography, interior design and calligraphy. Though Geraldiine enjoyed writing letters to her dearest friends, she would also encouraged all people to smile, talk, and hold wonderful conversations about life. Geraldine is survived by her son Bryan (Cindy) Damkaer, daughter-in-law Katherine Damkaer, close cousin Pat Young and several other cousins. She has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dennis; her parents Hattie and Carl; and sons Carl Knapp and Raymond Damkaer. There will be a celebration of Geraldine’s life at 1 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2020, at Coastal Community Church in Westport, Washington — 711 Englewood Lane S., Westport, WA 98595.
