Longtime Montesano resident Gerald “Skip” David Autio, 67, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020. He was born May 29, 1953, in Elma, Washington, to Louis and Doris (Shelters) Autio.

Skip was raised in Montesano and graduated from Montesano High School in 1971 and Grays Harbor College in 1982.

He gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country. He suffered from a contamination accident while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was discharged in 1977.

Skip is survived by his son Jeremy (Amy) Bubnick of Manvel, Texas; daughters Misti (Guy) Rister of Clyde, Texas and Brandy Autio of Liberty, Kansas; and his sister Lois Hendrickx of Raymond, Washington; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Special thanks for the care and support Bob and Grace Worman gave Skip.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Crystal Lynn Fudge.
