George Matthew Patrick passed on March 4, 2016. He was born March 16, 1933, in Centralia, Wash., to John T. and Eunice M. (Bland) Patrick. He was raised in Hoquiam and attended school in Hoquiam and graduated from Wishkah and Hoquiam High School. George was a member of the Boy Scouts where be attained Eagle Scout status on April 12, 1949.

On Feb. 6, 1954, George married the love of his life Pearl Locke. They were married from this date to the time of her passing in March 2004. George served in the Navy (1951-1955) where the couple spent the early part of their marriage stationed in Hawaii.

After serving his time in the Navy they returned to Aberdeen, and civilian life, George worked at Blagen’s sawmill (1955-1961) in Hoquiam.

In 1961 George joined the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department. George spent his entire Law Enforcement career serving the citizens of Grays Harbor County, retiring in 1999 from the Sheriff’s Office after 38 years.

After retirement George went to work part time with the Coroner’s Office as a Deputy Coroner retiring January 2015.

George is survived by a brother Bert Patrick his children, Kim Cruchon, Edward (Anna) Patrick, Kevin (Angie) Patrick, eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Marissa, Courtney, Michaela, Jaiden, Jerzy, Shyanna and Brennan and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Carson, Brayden and Leon.

George was preceded in death by his parents John and Eunice Patrick, brother, Tommy, wife, Pearl and sons, George Jr. and Michael.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen. A funeral service is set for 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at Harrison Family Mortuary followed by a graveside service with military honors at Fern Hill Cemetery. There will be a gathering to share memories after the graveside service at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge on Boone St. in South Aberdeen.

George had a great appreciation of many things and his wish was to have donations made to the following:
