George Edward Ficele passed away on June 30, 2023.

George Edward Ficele passed away on June 30, 2023. George, also known as the “Italian Stallion” by many, was born on June 19, 2053, in Aberdeen, Washington to Philip and Florence Ficele. George attended Aberdeen High School and Grays Harbor College.

On April 26, 2000 George married Jacqueline Wells in Reno, Nevada. George worked for GH Juvenile Detention, Swanson’s, Thriftway and Breakwater collectively for many years. George attended St Mary’s Church. He played baseball from five years old all the way through to the Adult City league when he was 40. George enjoyed going to the casino, old Western movies, Saturday morning cartoons and playing cards.

George was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Florence Ficele. He is survived by his wife Jackie Ficele who resides in the family home with their dogs Tony, Sheba, and Ringo; stepsons Daniel and Brian Watson both of Aberdeen; stepdaughter Stacy Watson of Aberdeen; sisters Cheryl Ficele of Olympia and Eva (Lai) To of Aberdeen; aunt Eleanor Ficele of Yakima; uncle Joseph Ficele of Yakima; special nephews Philip and Nathan To; friends Bud St Louis and Mark Doughery; and numerous cousins.

The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone who was involved in his care, especially the dialysis nurses.

Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at St. Mary’s Church in Aberdeen followed by a Memorial Mass.
