Gene passed away Feb. 25 after a courageous battle with cancer at an assisted-living facility in Yuma, Arizona, with his family at his side.

Gene was born in Tacoma, Washington, to Harry and Rosetta Frost. They later moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where he graduated from AHS in 1949.

He proudly served in the USMC.

Gene worked many years at ITT Rayonier Pulp and Paper Mill as a millwright, retired, then he and his wife Karen opened Frost Nursery in Montesano. He later drove bus for Grays Harbor Transit.

He worshipped the sun therefore moved to Yuma, Arizona where he lived many years before his passing.

He was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything. His hobbies included woodworking, dune buggies and converting old Greyhound buses into motorhomes.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Karen (with whom he remained friends), beloved brother Richard and son-in-law Ed West.

He is survived by his three daughters: Barbara West of Wetumpka, Alabama, Diane (Keith) Frafjord of Montesano, Washington and Paula (Jerry) Bednarik of Aberdeen, Washington. Also surviving are sister-in-law Connie Frost of Yuma, Arizona, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and some amazing friends.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Hospice Compasses of Yuma. Dad received excellent care, love and compassion from their staff for seven months.

At his request there was no service. However a luncheon was held in his honor with family and friends.
