Gary Kevin Dodd, 64, McCleary resident and former employee at Simpson Door Company in McCleary, passed away on Dec. 8, 2021, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington.

Gary was born on Dec. 27, 1956, in Caldwell, Idaho to Donald and Marjorie Jane (Mallet) Dodd. He grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1975. He then received his Associate of Arts from North Idaho Jr. College.

He married Diane Lynn Beers on Jan. 24, 1976 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They were separated five years ago. She lives in Shelton, Washington.

In 1978, he joined the US Army for six years. He was honorably discharged from Ft. Lewis and made his home in Yelm. In 1990, they moved to McCleary and then went to work for Simpson Door in 1997, retiring in 2012.

Gary loved to listen to music and read.

Gary is survived by his wife, Diane Dodd of Shelton, Washington; daughters: Amber (Jeffrey) Lynch of Gig Harbor, Washington; and Nikki Dodd and Rose Dodd both of Tumwater, Washington; mother Marjorie Green of Sandpoint, Idaho; a brother, Duane Dodd of Sandpoint, Idaho; sisters: Kathy Schell of Marysville, Washington and Patricia Sullivan of Post Falls, Idaho; and grandkids: Ellie and Hanah Lynch.

There will be inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
