Gabriel “Gabe” Forrest

Gabriel “Gabe” Forrest went to be with Jesus on June 17, 2021.

Gabriel “Gabe” Forrest, age 42, father, son, brother, uncle and friend went to be with Jesus on June 17, 2021. Gabe was born with a servant’s heart which led him to a life of valor and ultimately his passing to Covid 19 while protecting his community at Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

Gabe was born in 1979 in Morton, Washington to James “Frosty” and Carrie Forrest.

Gabe bulldozed his way through high school as an all-state football player, graduating from Ocosta in 1997. He then went to Central Washington University, carrying on Wildcat Pride where he graduated with a degree in law and justice.

Wanting to be close to family and friends, Gabe immediately put his degree to work at Stafford Creek Corrections Center as a Correctional Officer. Gabe’s passion was recognized in 2018 when he received Washington State Correctional Officer of the year.

In 2012 Gabe was blessed with his daughter Kyliah, his pride and joy. As humble as Gabe was, she was the one thing he would brag about.

Gabe is survived by his daughter, Kyliah Mao-Forrest, parents Frosty and Carrie Forrest, sisters Nicole (Daryl) Brown and Trina (Aaron) Wallin and brothers Tyson (Melissa) Forrest and Grant (Alisha) Forrest, five nieces, six nephews, and many, many friends.

A funeral service will be held on July 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam.

A public viewing will be held at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen on Monday, July 5, from noon – 5 p.m.
