Ford Harrison Hindbaugh Jr. passed away Feb. 12, 2021, at his home in Montesano.

Ford Harrison Hindbaugh Jr., formerly of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away Feb. 12, 2021, at his home in Montesano, Washington.

He was born April 11, 1928, to Eunice Griffith Hindbaugh and Ford Harrison Hindbaugh Sr. of Muscatine, Iowa.

Ford spent his childhood in Columbus Junction, Iowa doing his favorite pastimes, hunting, fishing, trapping and target practicing and just being with his friends and cousins. In his younger years, he built boats, all sorts of water floatations, and just about anything a hammer and nail could create.

He married Ida Allison on May 24, 1952, and together they had five daughters: Verna Halford, Tamara Hindbaugh, Rita Phillips and Elisa Ulakovich, all of Montesano and a daughter Susan Irving, living in Vienna.

In 1959, the family moved to Montesano, Washington, where he spent the remainder of his life.

While living in Iowa, Ford molded parts for machinery. Moving to Washington, he became a logger for Weyerhaeuser Company and worked there for 30 years. He retired Nov. 24, 1990 and spent many happy years with his daughters, grandkids, family and friends.

Ford has five grandchildren: Angela Halford, Sabrina White, Ford Harrison Hindbaugh, Austin Ulakovich and Nichole Hart; and six great-grandchildren: Trinity and Logan White; Ford, Lincoln and Monroe Hindbaugh and Rhydian Ulakovich.

Preceding Ford in death were his parents Ford and Eunice Hindbaugh, sisters Lena Clodfielder and Geneva Hindbaugh and brother Otis Hindbaugh.

Ford enlisted in the Army, did training at Camp Roberts, California and was shipped to Austria right after training.

Ford touched many lives and will be missed by his happy smile and his happy times with his children, grandchildren, family an friends.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at 2 in the afternoon on Friday, April 16, at the Wynoochee Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome. Pastor Cobb of the Montesano Presbyterian Church will be officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at his home right after the service.
