Florence “Flo” (Turk) George

Florence “Flo” (Turk) George passed away after a long battle with COPD on May 19, 2021.

Florence “Flo” (Turk) George was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away after a long battle with COPD on May 19, 2021, at the age of 84.

She was born to Earle and Delphia Turk on Sept. 11, 1936 in South Bend, Washington. After high school, Flo began college only to leave to start her family.

Flo loved experimenting with baking and trying new recipes, and was well known for her pies. Many a time we would come home to something new, like “surprise” cake but she wouldn’t tell us what it was until after we tried it. Turns out tomato soup cake is phenomenal! Flo was an avid bowler and a fan of most sports. She also enjoyed playing the piano, crossword puzzles and collecting drawings from first her grandchildren, then her great-grandchildren.

Flo is survived by her children: Robert “Rob” Morley, Toni Haggerty, Charles “Fred” Anderson and Linda McMurtry; grandchildren: Brian Morley, Aurora Fritz, Thomas Blevins, Kendra Ostrander and Walker Geary, five great-grandchildren, her brother Earle Turk Jr., nephew Jason Turk and niece Victoria Metoyer.

She is proceeded in death by her son Clayton Smith.

A celebration will be held at her home on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m.
