Faye I. Johnson, 94, a longtime resident of McCleary, died at Summit Pacific Hospital, Elma, Friday, April 21, 2017.

Faye I. Johnson, 94, a longtime resident of McCleary, died at Summit Pacific Hospital, Elma, Friday, April 21, 2017. Faye was born in Sand Springs, Okla. on Feb. 12, 1923, the daughter of James and Nora (Blackston) Trimble.

The family moved to Arkansas when Faye was four years old. Then thirteen years later they came to live in Yakima, then to the north beach area of the Washington Coast. The family settled in McCleary in 1941 and Faye would work in the McCleary Simpson Mill during World War II.

She married Donald Johnson in Montesano, June 8, 1946, and they would make their home in McCleary. Donald died in 2002. Faye would continue to live in the same home they established 62 years ago.

Faye was a faithful member of the McCleary Assembly of God Church. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning until her health and eyesight began to fail her.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed holiday baking and decorating the house with her grandchildren.

Faye is survived by two daughters: Patricia and husband Jerry Bodine, McCleary and Pamela Bodine and husband Rusty, McCleary; a sister: Nita Gibson, McCleary; and four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Johnson in 2004.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the McCleary Cemetery.
