Irene Campos of Aberdeen passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on January 15th, 2024.

Irene Campos of Aberdeen passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on January 15th, 2024. Irene was born in Aberdeen to the parents of Edward and Myrtle Broten on June 5, 1938. She was the oldest of 10 children; seven brothers and two sisters. She attended school in Aberdeen.

In 1954, she met the love of her life,, Ralph E. Campos, of El Paso, Texas. They were married and together raised 7 children; 5 sons and 2 daughters: Debra, Douglas, Darrel, Daniel, Gregory, Lori and Jayson. Irene had 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, whom she loved and cared for deeply.

While raising her children, Irene worked on the Harbor as a homecare aid for seniors. In her spare time, when not cooking for a small army, Irene liked to sew and crochet, garden, read her Bible and lots of other books of interest. She enjoyed watching her kids play sports and taking summer road trips with family and friends. She was very active in her church and loved spending time with her brothers and sisters in Christ.

She is reunited with her husband and two sons, Darrel and Gregory and a grandson, Cruz.

A celebration of life will take place at the Hoquiam Elks on a date TBD for family and close friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
