Ellen Irwin passed away peacefully Dec. 5, 2020, with her daughter by her side. She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Hoquiam, Washington, to Peter and Anna Bavle. She was a lifelong Hoquiam resident. She attended school in Hoquiam, graduating from Hoquiam High School, class of 1942.

She married her high school sweetheart Robert (Bob) Irwin on Sept. 1, 1943, when he was home on leave during WWII. They were married 69 years until his passing in 2012.

They spent their whole lives living in Hoquiam. They raised three children. Robert (Peter) Irwin, (Jan) Gary Irwin (deceased) and Barbara Daniels (Dan).

She worked for the Hoquiam School District at the middle school from where she retired. She loved her trips to Hawaii, Reno and Mexico, working in her flower beds, knitting or sewing were her hobbies. Attending her grandson Scott’s sports was so much fun for her.

She is survived by her two children: Pete and Barbara, grandson Scott Daniels and great-granddaughter Emily Daniels.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Gary, sisters Marian Carson and Anna Bennett.

Due to COVID there will be a private family gathering.
