Elizabeth Ann Bruener, 82 years of age and a longtime Harborite, died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Washington.

Elizabeth Ann Bruener, 82 years of age and a longtime Harborite, died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Washington. She was born on May 21, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, to Alexander Nesbit Park and Margaret Frances (Woomer) Park.

She was raised in Ballard, Washington, and there she attended school. She enjoyed ice skating, dancing and loved going camping at Twin Harbors State Park at Westport, Washington. Her father would take the whole family there. She learned to drive on the beach there in the early 1950s, in their Mercury station wagon. In the 1950s, she worked for the U.S.O. as a can-can girl. They would meet the ships as the servicemen returned from active duty. She was a finalist in the 1956 Miss Washington pageant.

Elizabeth Ann Park was married to Theodore B. Bruener, III, on June 25, 1972, in Camas, Washington. They resided in Kirkland and Redmond prior to moving to the present family home in Aberdeen.

Elizabeth had worked at Foss Tug in Seattle. She had been an I.B.M. computer programmer in the 1960s and 1970s in San Francisco and Seattle.

Elizabeth had volunteered at various nursing homes in Kirkland and Seattle. She attended the Catholic churches in Kirkland and Redmond. She helped teach CCD in Redmond. She also attended Masses at Our Lady of the Olympics in Amanda Park, Saint Mary Catholic Church in Aberdeen and Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Church in Hoquiam.

Her travels had taken her to Hawaii, Arizona, California, Nevada and Canada.

Her most memorable times were when they had birth of her son “Mr. Ted” and when she was able to help run the concession stand at the Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam. These were important parts of her life.

Liz will long be remembered for the things her husband and she did for the young people in the schools and community, her love of friends and family. Also, for the good food that came out of her kitchen. Liz was a very accomplished seamstress and her two nieces remember her making them special outfits on numerous occasions. Liz was an incredible gourmet cook and was always trying new recipes and organizing her cookbooks.

Liz loved spending time at their home at Lake Quinault and she enjoyed going berry and mushroom picking. She and Ted also spent a lot of time out in their fishing boat.

Elizabeth Ann Bruener is survived by her husband, Theodore B. Breuner of the Aberdeen family home and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Park Betzvog and her son, Theodore B. Bruener IV, who was born on Sept. 29, 1975, and died on July 11, 1991.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m, Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at the Our Lady of the Olympics, 6133 US Highway 101 at Amanda Park, Washington, with Father Francis Arulappan, presiding celebrant. Concluding service with vault interment will follow in the Quinault Cemetery, in Quinault, Washington.
