Edwyn Berthold Jones, age 91, passed away on Jan. 11, 2021, in Allyn, Washington. His wife, Margaret Jones, passed away in 2019 while both were living at the Haven in Allyn.

Ed is survived by his two sons: Doug (Donna) of Hoquiam, Washington and Tony (Penny) of Woodstock, Georgia. In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren: Kourtney Rand, Alexander (Jennifer) Jones and Amanda (Jay) Huffman; and two great-grandchildren: Eleanor Jones and Cecilia Huffman.

Ed and Margret made their home in Hoquiam for most of their lives, both graduating from Hoquiam High School. They moved to Mason Lake (Grapeview), Washington for the final nearly 30 years of their lives. Ed was a tugboat operator for Foss Maritime and before that Allman Hubble Tugboat Company in Grays Harbor. Margaret worked for US Bank (Peoples) for most of her working career. In retirement Ed and Margaret were known as the unofficial First Family of the Little Hoquiam Cove at Mason Lake. Both took a great deal of pride in their home and grounds, and watching after their friends’ and neighbors’ summer homes.

Ed was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
