Edwin Clinton “Bud” Drake III, 73, Aberdeen resident, passed away at his home on Dec. 24, 2020.

Bud was born on Feb. 24, 1947, in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Edwin C. and Thelma J. (Tice) Drake Jr. He graduated from high school and then joined the Marine Corps in May 1966 and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in March 1970 and returned to Grand Rapids, where he worked as a newspaper delivery man.

He moved to Aberdeen in August 2017 to be near his daughter. He was a member of the Hoquiam VFW, and he loved watching M*A*S*H.

He is survived by two daughters: Patsy Striegel of Aberdeen and Jenny Drake-Clemmons in Michigan; several grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.

Inurnment with Marine Corp honors will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
