Edward “Ed” David Anderson of Aberdeen passed away on Aug. 18, 2021, at the age of 69.

Edward “Ed” David Anderson of Aberdeen passed away on Aug. 18, 2021, at the age of 69. He was born on July 7, 1952 in Aberdeen, Washington to Stanley and Vera Anderson. Ed graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1971. In 1975, Ed met the love of his life Karen (Wagner) Anderson. The couple married at St Mary’s Catholic Church on June 24, 1978.

Ed continued his education to earn a degree in diesel mechanics from Bates Technical College. He was a long-time foreman of the City of Hoquiam Sanitation Department and later retired from Hometown Sanitation.

Ed was a devoted family man. Karen and the kids always came first. He was also an outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed hiking, boating, shooting and fishing. He had a passion for the culinary arts and always had dinner ready for Karen when she returned home from work. They enjoyed leisurely country drives together, and he always made time for the Seahawks on Sunday. Ed was fortunate enough to travel to places like Ireland, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean, New Orleans, Alaska, and many National Parks with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Karen Anderson; children: Christopher Anderson, Ian Anderson, Jennifer (Ray) Randall and Eric (Natasha) Anderson; and grandchildren Kiera Anderson and Jack Randall.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Richard, Stanley, Robert and William Anderson.

A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, 43 W. Wishkah Road, Aberdeen, WA at 1 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2021. A celebration of life will follow the service at 2:30 p.m. at the Polson Museum in Hoquiam.
