Duane Laverne Paull, 73, of Ocean Shores, Washington, passed away on May 7, 2024, in Port Orchard, Washington.

Duane Laverne Paull, 73, of Ocean Shores, Washington, passed away on May 7, 2024, in Port Orchard, Washington. He was born on July 17, 1950, in Aberdeen. Duane was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding both off-road and on. He attended the 50th anniversary of Sturgis riding from Ocean Shores, Washington, to Sturgis, South Dakota, and would take off to make the loop around the Olympic Peninsula in a day.

Duane is survived by his brother, Jeremy (Melisa) Paull; nephew, Joel (Lynn) Schaeffer; nieces: Alicia (Pablo) Villarreal, Nicole Nelson and Kirsten Paull, stepmom, Marie Medley; stepsiblings Connie, Terri and Jim Medley, and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Inis Ashenbrenner; and father, Lowell Paull; sisters Linda Johnson and April Gutierrez.

Duane attended Lake Quinault High School and furthered his education at Grays Harbor Community College and the University of Washington. He served in the Army from 1970 to 1971.

Later in life, Duane enjoyed target shooting, gun collecting, photography and playing pinochle. He worshipped at the Community of Christ church located in Neilton, Washington. Duane was laid to rest at the Washington Veteran’s Home Cemetery in Port Orchard. A celebration of life will be held on June 1st at 11 a.m. at the Neilton Church, followed by a small potluck to share memories.
