Dorothy LaVerne (Wicklander) Antilla passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center, Raymond, Washington.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 16, 1927, in Washburn, North Dakota to George and Selma Wicklander. Dorothy is survived by three children: Senja Antilla of Kapa ’au, Hawaii (P.O. Box 1438, Zip 96755); Chris Antilla (Brenda) of Raymond; and Liisa Antilla Kellems (Barry) of Seattle, Washington. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Eric Antilla (Cora Sides) of Raymond and Lindsey Blakely (Jason) of South Bend, Washington; two great-grandchildren, Makenzie Antilla and Haylee Antilla of Raymond, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy is also survived by three half-siblings: Roberta Noon of Wilton, North Dakota; Nancy Geigle of Shady Cove, Oregon; and Paul Wicklander of Lansing, Michigan.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Antilla, sons John Antilla and David (baby) Antilla, three siblings, four half-siblings, and a step-mother.

After earning a BS degree from North Dakota State Teachers College, Dorothy headed out West for her first position — teaching home economics at South Bend High School. In 1950, she married Ralph Antilla of Raymond.

Dorothy spent most of her career teaching kindergarten in South Bend and Raymond. After retiring from teaching she managed the family business, Antilla’s Jewelry & Gifts in Raymond), for many years.

Dorothy was a member of the Willapa Harbor Ladies Golf Club, Raymond Ladies Elks and Raymond Research Club. She loved traveling and experiencing arts and culture; she was a talented painter and poet. In later years, Dorothy enjoyed countless hours playing golf and cards with her many friends as well as following national and international politics.

She will be greatly missed.

The family will spread her ashes in a private ceremony.
