Doris (Peterson) Wilson went to be with Jesus while surrounded by loved ones on April 25, 2021, in the house in Menlo, Washington, where she and her husband Les raised their children. She was 91 years old.

Doris was born on July 13, 1929 in Wisconsin. Her family came to Washington by train when she was 6 years old. She married Les Wilson in 1957. She worked as the high school secretary at the Willapa Valley School for many years. Once she retired, she worked as an accountant at Miller’s Radiator. “Gran” as she was known by many, was the Willapa United Methodist Church Sunday School Superintendent for over 40 years. She impacted an incredible number of lives by sharing her mantra, “Jesus loves you and so do I.”

Doris loved her family dearly, and never hesitated to share with others how wonderful she thought they were. If the true measurement of the quality of life is by the impact that one has on the lives of others, she truly lived the best life ever. She lives on today through the many lives she influenced.

Doris was preceded in death by both of her parents Chris and Eleanora, her husband Les, siblings Tom, Bill and JoAnne, step-son Mark, and her special mentors Helen Nott and her Aunt Harriette.

She is survived by her children Roy Nott, Linda Miller, Teena Salme, Paula Blackshear and Shirley Wilson, her siblings Char Morrison, Midge Nelson, Kristy Petersen, Karla Duncan, Phyllis Chavers and Todd Peterson, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and her special friend Sam Sheary and her “girls from Alder House.”

A funeral service will not be held at this time due to Covid concerns.
