Doris Millie Hoggatt, a longtime Central Park resident, passed away Nov. 10, 2023.

Doris Millie Hoggatt, a longtime Central Park resident, passed away Nov. 10, 2023. She was born June 9, 1930, in Grandview, Washington to Thomas and Ezwoh Northcut.

Doris’ devotion to family and friends will continue to impact all who were touched by her presence.

As a young girl Doris’ family lived for a short while in Mabton, Washington before moving to Woodland, Washington where she grew up on the family dairy farm. Doris graduated from Woodland High School in the Class of 1948. She graduated from Lower Columbia College and married Ralph Hoggatt in June of 1950.

In 1956, Doris and Ralph moved to Central Park where they raised their four children. Doris called Central Park home for nearly 65 years. Through her life Doris was an active member of her community engaging as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Outside of her family Doris was very proud of her gardening skills, enjoying the summers growing vegetables, berries and preserving her harvest.

After all her children were enrolled in school, Doris went back to college completing her teaching degree. She spent 23 years teaching at the Ocosta School District. Doris and Ralph took several trips through out their marriage to locations including Alaska, the US Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, and Australia. In retirement Doris and Ralph became Master Gardeners and were active members in the Central Park Lions Club.

After Ralph’s passing, Doris spent her time actively volunteering in various community programs through the Lions Club.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Dennis) Wright Chehalis, Washington; Libby Hoggatt (Ronald Woodson) San Francisco, California and Wayne (Coy) Hoggatt, Aberdeen, Washington. She has six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by her sister Louise (Bob) Gaudet of Vancouver, Washington and her brother Kirk (Fran) Northcut of Woodland, Washington. Doris is proceeded in death by her daughter Carmen Blanchard, her parents and brothers Billy and Tom Northcut Jr.

Please join the family in a Celebration of Life at the Cosmopolis Lions Club, Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m.
