Donald “Don” George Easter passed away Thursday Oct. 8, 2020, at his Aberdeen home.

Donald “Don” George Easter passed away Thursday Oct. 8, 2020, at his Aberdeen home. He was born Sept. 22, 1937, to the Grays Harbor pioneer family of George and Romayne (Pearson) Easter.

Don lived in Aberdeen for most of his 83 years and was a proud graduate from Aberdeen High School in 1957. After graduation, he took jobs in crab fishing in Alaska before returning to Aberdeen to work for Weyerhaeuser Company, where he was employed for 36 years. He held a variety of jobs with the company, ending with driving the water truck at the South Side sorting yard until his retirement.

Don met his wife, Pauline (Fredericks), in Grayland in 1968. They were married on Jan. 26, 1969, and had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary earlier this year. Don and Pauline have lived in their current home for the last 48 years and have been friends to everyone in their neighborhood, all of whom will miss Don.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, going to the casino and being with family. His famous words when asked to do something were “I’ll get to it” and when he did get to it, it could have been any time between one day or two years from then.

Don was a loving father, and he always had a smile and hug for everyone that wanted it. He loved joking with his kids and his bright blue eyes were always sparkling with laughter. Whenever he was proud of his children’s accomplishments his eyes would water with happiness and his children would laugh about the “dust in his eyes.”

Don was preceded in death by his parents George and Romayne Easter, his sister Carol Birmingham, his daughter Lisa Easter, and his granddaughter Katelyn Mutai.

Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pauline, and their children: Michele (Ken) Housden of Aberdeen, Matt (Kim) Easter of Enumclaw, and Tina (Jeff) Miles of Cosmopolis; his grandson, Mitch (Tricia) Housden and granddaughters: Cierra Housden, Shayna (Curtis) Steinhauer, Brooke Wilson, Natalie Miles, Alanna Miles, Riley Easter and Gracie Easter, and great grandson, Karson Housden.

Don is also survived by his two children from a previous marriage, Donnie (Mary) Easter of Florida and Deana (Kent) Goodman of Texas. He is survived by his brothers Dick (Mary-Anne) Easter of Amboy, Washington; Sam (Barb) Easter of San Antonio, Texas and John (Marilee) Easter of Amboy.

Don’s kindness to everyone and his smiling eyes will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be spring/summer of 2021 with detail announced later.
