Delores Naomi Lake of Aberdeen passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Delores Naomi Lake of Aberdeen passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She was 81. Delores was born on Sept. 30, 1935, to Andrew and Clara Hill in Chino, San Bernardino, Calif.

After high school, Delores furthered her studies at L.H. Bates Vocational-Technical Institute and graduated with her AA in 1972. It was shortly after then she met and married Gerald F. Lake on May 31, 1974, in Tacoma, Wash.

Delores’s schooling lead her to work for Allen Moore, Lakewood General Hospital until 1981 when the family moved to the Grays Harbor area. After being settled for a few years she became employed with the Hoquiam School District as a Para-Educator, LPN. She retired in 1995.

During her retirement she enjoyed garage sales, home decorating and reading. She also spent as much time as she could with her family.

Delores is survived by her husband Gerald F. Lake of Aberdeen; Sons Jason Lake of Cosmopolis, Wash., Billy (Ina) Goodyear of Ocean Shores, Wash. and Jack (Renee) Goodyear of Aberdeen, Wash.; daughters Terri (Sheldon) Clark of Coos Bay, Ore., Rhonda Lisa Goodyear and Daphne (Greg) Nelson both of Aberdeen, Wash.; 14 grandchildren Shaun Goodyear, Bryan Goodyear, D.J. Jacobi, Scott Jacobi, Jennifer Goodyear, Tawny Gonzalez, Alexis Abruscato, Ian Ward, Ophelia Lake, Jewell Lake, Elijah Lake, Holden Lake, and Ryder Harris-Lake; and five great-grandchildren Gabriella Abruscato, Addison Gonzalez, Raelyn Gonzalez, Austin Goodyear and Tyler King. She was preceded in death by her unborn granddaughter, oldest daughter Toni Lynn Black, sister Elenore Risner and granddaughter Jodi Goodyear.

A Celebration of Delores’ life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at 716 Water Street, Aberdeen. RSVP 360-637-8735.
