ELMA — Raymond L. “Ray” Stevens, 87, logger for Simpson Timber Co. for many years, died at his home in Elma, Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019. His interest also was in race car driving.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Elma.

Avery O Gates

SOAP LAKE — Avery O Gates, 95, a resident of Soap Lake, Washington died Nov. 25, 2019.

Avery lived in Grays Harbor for many years. He was a logger most of those years.

He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service.

A graveside service will be held at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, Washington at 12 p.m. Jan. 18, 2020 with a potluck following at the Adna Church.

Arrangements are by Nicoles Funeral Home, Soap Lake, Washington.

ELMA — Longtime Elma resident Arnold Eugene Lowe died early Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at Summit Pacific Medical Center. He was 95. Services are pending through Harrison Family Mortuary in Montesano.
