Davis Euel Hardee III passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Harbor Regional Health. He was 75 years old.
Davis was born at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida to parents Davis and Elizabeth Hardee. He was an Air Force child and lived in many different places, from the Philippines to Louisiana. He also lived in Seattle before moving to Hoquiam in 1999.
Dave graduated from Glacier High School and then Grays Harbor College. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He worked as a pilot for Northern Air Cargo Express while living in Alaska. He also worked for BBC Dodge in sales management and for Grays Harbor College. Dave enjoyed biking and was active in the 3D Racing Company that he and his eldest son started from the ground floor. When Dave got sick, his youngest son, Neil, stepped up to help. On Nov. 24, 2008, Dave married Shelley Hurt, who currently resides at the family home.
In addition to his wife Shelley, he is also survived by his sons, Davis Hardee IV (Brandy) and Neil Hardee, both of Burien; stepdaughter, Chandrea Byron (Nick) of Hoquiam; brother, Howard Hardee (Carla) of Red Bluff, California; sister, Ginny (Kenny) of Seattle; and seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Emmett, Davis, Natalie, Ethan, Finley, and Dax. He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Elizabeth.
