Darrell Gene ‘Butch’ Bosler

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Darrell Gene “Butch” Bosler, passed away Jan. 2, 2022.

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Darrell Gene “Butch” Bosler, passed away Jan. 2, 2022. He was born Jan. 21, 1935, to Raymond Bosler and Ezelle Loker in Atwood, Kansas. Darrell moved to Oakville, Washington in November of 1949 and graduated from Oakville High School in 1953.

On Sept. 12, 1958, Darrell married the love of his life, Betty Jo Overby, in Elma, Washington. They were married for 63 years.

Darrell worked for Elma Milk Shippers from 1956 to 1964. He was a dairy farmer from 1964 to 1986. After retiring from dairy farming, he worked for Gene Goeres Farms.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and Sunday morning drinking coffee, reminiscing about the past, and debating the world’s problems with family and friends.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Bosler of Oakville; son Larry Bosler (Kim) of Elma; daughter Lisa Darnell (Bill) of Oakville; sisters Joylene Moe of Oakville and Linda Easton of Elma; grandchildren Trenton and Raelene Darnell of Oakville, and Taylor Smith of Elma; and great-grandchild Grayson Raney of Oakville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ezelle, and sister Marilyn McMaster.

There will be a viewing at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen on Jan. 10, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Elma Masonic Cemetery at 1 p.m.
