A celebration of life for longtime Harbor resident Darlene Dunning, and remembrance of her husband Virgil, will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, on the beach in Ocean Shores.

Darlene died July 25, 2022, and Virgil passed away in 2001.

Darlene and Virgil owned and operated the Dunning & Norton service station at the corner of Wishkah and L streets in Aberdeen with partner Donald Norton from 1946 to 1986.

Meet at 5 p.m. in the parking area near the public restrooms at 408 Damon Road just before the beach access. If you do not wish to drive down on the beach, we will provide a ride for you and your chairs to the event tents.

The celebration will begin at 5:30 and be followed by dinner on the beach. Hot drinks will be available during the celebration.

Please bring your own chair and a blanket if you are concerned about the cold. Dress warm.
