His work history spanned over 3 states. While in Washington, he worked several years at the Rainier pulp and paper mill in Hoquiam. He was a heavy machinery operator and powder monkey. He operated as a sawyer at the cedar lumber mill for Mark Ayers in Carlisle. He then worked alongside brother in-law Chuck Meyer where he learned to fall timber, after that he fell timber for Donnie Frickle and Steve Cox. Before moving to Montana, he worked as a shift Supervisor for Washington Crab in Westport, Washington.
After his move, he delivered seafood across Western Montana for Ocean Beauty and then worked at the Asarco Smelter, East Helena Montana. Lastly, he worked in Alaska as a river and fishing tour guide.
He greatly enjoyed teaching people how to catch fish and often shared stories of these adventures. He thoroughly loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Family and fishing were his greatest joys and every year he shared his catch at Christmas in the form of smoked salmon. His laughter and humor will be greatly missed by all.
