Corene Laaksonen, a devoted wife, has reunited with her beloved husband, Stanley Mitchel Laaksonen, in eternal peace. She passed away on March 10, 2025.

She left behind daughters Laura Mink and Susan Shrable; son Bruce (Mollie) Laaksonen; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Corene lived a life full of love, strength, and quiet grace. She spent many years as a teacher’s aide in the Aberdeen School District, where her kind heart and gentle spirit touched many young lives.

She found joy in painting beautiful pictures, quilting warm creations for those she loved, cooking meals that gathered family together, fishing, gardening, and clam digging.

Her hands created beauty, her heart created warmth, and her spirit created a home wherever she was.

Corene’s love will never leave us — she will continue to watch over her family and loved ones from above.
