Cleo Marthalice (Combes) Sheets, 92, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at her home near Elma. Cleo was born in Hoodsport, Wash., on June 14, 1925. She lived most of her life in the East Grays Harbor area, raised by parents, John Preston and Alice Cady Combes. Cleo was educated in the Elma School District, and graduated from Elma High School in 1943. Following graduation, she attended Griffin Murphy Business School in Seattle. Most of her working life in the community was spent with the business office at The Simpson Timber Company and Door Plant in McCleary, Wash.

Among her accomplishments in life, Cleo most enjoyed raising her six children — loving and treasuring time spent with a large extended family. Throughout the years, Cleo was an active member of “pinochle card club” along with her many special lady friends in the Elma area. She took pride in being a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Cleo (Combes) Sheets was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marge Feeser and her twin brother, Clyde Calvin Combes. She is survived by her six children: Sharon Boling Wilson, Linda Boling Smith, Carol Boling Seaman, Douglas Boling, John Boling and Rick Foster. Also, surviving Gramma Cleo are her 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In her long life, Cleo was a remarkable mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In memory of Cleo, donations may be made to VFW Ladies Auxiliary or to a favorite charity. We hope you will join us, family and friends, on June 14, (also Flag Day) to honor Cleo’s beautiful life and precious memories. June 14, would have been her 93rd birthday.

A graveside memorial service and music will be held June 14, at 11 a.m. at Elma Catholic Cemetery on Monte-Elma Road. A celebration of life will follow, with food, family and friends at the home of her son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Linda Foster, on O’Neill Road in Elma, Wash.
