Christina JoAnn (Korst) Bentrott died Aug. 16, 2021, at age 42, in a Reno, Nevada hospital due to complications of COVID-19. Tina was born Dec. 23, 1978, in Tacoma, Washington and was adopted at birth by her loving parents, Gerald and Gay Korst.
Tina grew up in Hoquiam, Washington where she attended school and was active in sports and cheerleading. The Korst family home was a frequent gathering place for so many of her friends. She graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1997.
Tina moved away after graduation and married Robert “Bob” Bentrott in 2006. They made their home in Maple Valley, Washington where they raised their sons, Kiran and Collin, and her stepsons, Corbin and Chase. For the last several years, the family explored the United States while living in an RV. Their adventures were numerous, and Tina’s effervescent personality made it easy to make new friends. She was often described as a “kind soul,” “full of life” and a “free spirit.” Tina lived life on her own terms and was extremely active and health-conscious, enjoying distance running, hiking and lifting weights. She was a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer.
Survivors include Bob and their four sons; her parents, who now reside in Covington, Washington; her brother Jeremy, his wife Lisa and their three children: Amanda, Will and Anna, who live in Issaquah; and her godparents Veronica “Lolly” Bowers of Hoquiam and Ed Korst of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her infant sister Melinda.
In her memory, and in lieu of flowers or donations, her family asks that you help protect other families from this type of preventable tragedy by ensuring that you and your loved ones are fully vaccinated and wear masks where recommended.
