She was born to Leo and Hazel Wilder on Jan. 2, 1944, in Aberdeen, Washington. She was raised in Montesano, Washington with her eight siblings and she attended Montesano High School.

Carol married the absolute love of her life, William “Bill” Muhlhauser on Sept. 2, 1960, in Montesano. They were married for 62 wonderful years and were inseparable.

Carol was active in the Coastal Community Action Program, Meals on Wheels, and the Hoquiam and Elma Senior centers. She was Citizen of the Year in 2007 and received the Elma Chamber of Commerce RSVP Lifetime Achievement Award.

Carol was known for her crafts — quilts, knitting, crocheting — she kept herself very busy. She loved to cook and play bingo with her sisters. Most of all, she loved her family more than anything. The love she had for her kids and grandchildren was unmatched.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Hazel; brothers Vern, Earl and Bruce Wilder; sisters Sharon Ninemire, Karen Zillyette-Rogers, Shirley Bell and Margaret Ingram; granddaughter Tabatha Revel and grandson Kirby Muhlhauser.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude in Carol’s memory. Carol will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the Satsop Methodist Church, starting at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow in the dining area of the church.
