Beverly “Bev” Oliver, 71, of Ocean City, Washington, died on Sept. 30, 2020, at Montesano Health and Rehab from complications relating to congestive heart failure.

Bev was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, to Quentin E. and Marion M. (Millar) Bragdon. She grew up in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and after graduation from Haverford High School in 1967, she married Peter J. Volk. The couple moved to the Washington coast, where Peter was stationed in the U..S Navy at Pacific Beach. They eventually settled in Ocean City, Washington. Their only child, Christopher, was born in 1973. She divorced and was later remarried to Dwight “Gus” S. Oliver in 1980.

Bev loved living on the Washington coast and spent many years working in various retail positions. She earned her Nursing Assistant Certification in 1993. She especially enjoyed working with the elderly doing in-home care.

Bev found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Some of her favorite times were spent camping at the river, hosting 4th of July parties, playing cards with friends, spending time with family, decorating for the holidays and watching the sunset with her beloved husband Gus. She was an unabashedly proud supporter of her son and a devoted grandmother to Alex, Kyle and Derrick.

Beverly was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband Dwight; her son Chris (Melody) Volk; her grandchildren: Alex, Kyle, and Derrick Volk of Pullman, Washington; and her brother Quentin R. Bragdon of Tucson, Arizona and his children Joy and Colin.

A memorial will be held at an undetermined date in 2021. Friends and family are asked to celebrate Bev’s life in their own way.
