Betty May Boome, age 73, went to rest with Jesus on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at her home in Queets, Wash. She was born on Nov. 6, 1944, to Theodore Plaster Sr. and Vivian M. (Paul) Plaster. Betty was a lifetime resident of Queets.

She attended Lummi Day School as a child and graduated from Lake Quinault High School in 1963.

She married Archie Boome Sr. in 1963 and had two children, Archie Boome Jr. and Nora J. Prior.

She worked for Queets Head Start as a teacher’s aide when the Headstart first began. She was also the Community Health Representative for Quinault Indian Nation for a few years before finishing her career as a supervisor/bus driver from 1978 to 2017.

Betty was baptized at Forks Seventh-day Adventist Church. She also held Sabbath School for children in Queets, Wash. She loved to collect pictures and to follow family and friends on Facebook to see everyone’s latest photos. Betty loved to watch all her grandchildren in their sporting events. She also loved to watch Kobe Bryant on television.

In addition to her children, Archie and Nora, surviving relatives include her sister, Barbara Roberts, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Visitation will be at the Coleman Mortuary on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A candlelight service will be led by Harold Charles at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018. The funeral service, officiated by Monte Church and Brian Cladoosby, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, also at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Vault interment will be at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
